Levi @ 5 1/2 months

The weather took a small turn to cool off this past week and Levi has finally had a chance to show me what he is made of so far.

The leash obedience is great to this point. The bumper training is still fairly simple other than we are throwing the bumpers further and into taller field grass now. He is explosive on his retrieves – both out and back. I changed his food to 2 times per day and we train in the eveing before he eats. He will do anything for a couple pieces of food every other fetch. Everything is going well at this point.

“Levi” @ 14 weeks

Levi is sitting on command, healing on command (sitting on the whistle).

When he is told to sit, he will sit while I walk away. When told “Here”, he hauls right to me. He is also coming to me on the whistle.

We had some problems with our retrieving, he was getting too many distractions. I have a grown up field behind my hous so I cut back in the field with my walk behind mower.

I went inot the tall field 1 cut wide, then opened up to about 5 cuts wide 30 yards back. We can fetch, retrieve back in there with no distractions from anywhere. He is back on track.

I have taken him to many baseball games and he is about as calm as they get. the social skills are fantastic.

Delta delivery (5.13.10)

It took Levi a few hours to get adjusted. The first evening with us – he retrieved a bumber out to about 2 feet.

Friday – we were retriving out to about 10 ft

Saturday – out to 15 ft

5.17.10 – we are consistantly out to 20 ft and will stay here for a while. He is on a leash and doing well with that as well. I noticed tonight that i startled him a little with the clap of my hands. So, I started making some claps with my hands to addd a little noise during both practice sessions tonight. The little noise factor seems to be fixing itself already.
